Welcome to the Montessori Schools
of Massachusetts (MSM)!
We are delighted to share our new website with you. And we are also
delighted to recognize the twentieth anniversary of Montessori Schools
of Massachusetts (MSM) and the Centennial anniversary for Montessori
education. What a truly exciting time it to be part of the Montessori
education movement.
We are delighted to invite you to
explore our website and to learn more about MSM and the growing number
of opportunities that we are able to offer to our membership schools.
And please do get in touch with us if you have further ideas. We are
here to serve the greater Montessori community and look to our members
for a partnership relationship.
MSM is a regional membership organization committed to promoting
knowledge and understanding of Montessori and to provide a framework
for communication and cooperation among Montessori schools in the
region. We provide services that include networking opportunities,
professional development and support, job postings, financial aid for
Montessori training, communications and Montessori advocacy.
We are proud of several new initiatives that we have been able to
establish in the last few years which include:
- an annual teacher network
event (Fall)
- an annual Head of School
networking and professional development event
- our mid-winter annual conference for professional
development (January)
- scholarship program for teacher training
- our newsletter highlight key events and activities
- Non-Discrimination Ad
We are desirous to hear about
other services we could provide for our other schools.
Our membership is open to all public or private Montessori schools and
teacher training programs in Massachusetts or New England.

Mission
The mission of the Montessori Schools of Massachusetts is to promote
knowledge and understanding of the Montessori methods of education in
Massachusetts and to provide a framework for communication and
cooperation among Montessori schools within Massachusetts and other New
England states, and between these school and other private and public
schools, government agencies and organizations concerned with
education.
Organization
MSM was first organized in 1986 by a group of Montessori teachers and
administrators interested in creating a regional Montessori network.
MSM's board of Directors is a volunteer group of administrators from
member schools who meet bi-monthly to plan MSM events and manage the
organization. MSM hosts an annual Head of School Networking meeting
each fall, which the Head of all member schools is invited to attend.
If you are interested in becoming more involved with the board contact
a board member for information. Meeting dates are posted in advance on
this website in the "Highlights and Happennings" section.
