Description
The role includes:
-Supporting students during the morning and afternoon work cycles.
-Creating, planning and supervising aftercare programming.
-Creating, planning, and implementing a daily enrichment class.
-Examples of enrichment areas of study:
P.E. (guided group body movement through activities such as yoga, dance, outdoor team games, skiing); Homesteading (hands-on crafting and nature-based activities such as cooking, gardening, sewing); S.T.E.M. (hands-on building and engineering activities, physical science experiments, basic chemistry); Theater (guiding students in theatrical projects such as improv-based games and activities, acting methods, performing adult-written plays)
Qualifications
-Have prior experience in elementary education or related field working with children ages 6-12 years old
-Be able to confidently teach and play physical games with children and engage in guided activities (e.g. sports, imaginative play, guided games)
-Have a strong initiative and work ethic
-Be a team player, solution-oriented, and openly communicative with team members on a daily basis
-Have strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students
-Have a commitment to learning about and utilizing Anti-Bias, Anti-Racist (ABAR) educational practices
