Jackson Walnut Park School seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Kids’ Corner for the 2026-2027 school year. Broad responsibilities include: - Overseeing approximately 50 children and 5 staff from 11- 6pm daily. - Maintaining expectations for student behavior, supporting students in understanding community standards with positive reinforcement and guidance. - Providing a loosely Montessori based environment balanced with unstructured play to maintain consistency for the school’s youngest children. - Assisting with daily non-classroom duties (drop-off, lunch, pick-up, etc…). - Conducting one’s self in a manner consistent with the school’s mission and values, and as a role model

Qualifications

A solid understanding of the Montessori principals, AMS primary training preferred. The Assistant Director of Kids’ Corner should possess a college degree or be significantly advanced in college with a major or minor in education. Pluses include: Prior school or childcare experience, Independent or Catholic school experience, familiarity with Responsive Classroom practices.
